Bourne is a short hop from Spalding and a regular run for us. We work in the period homes around the town centre and the Wellhead. We also work in the newer homes spreading out towards the A15. The mix of old and new keeps the work varied.
We fit new fuse boxes in older homes, EV chargers, extra sockets and full rewires. You get a quick response and careful work. We leave it tidy and give you an honest fixed price up front.
We are based at Gosberton Clough, near Spalding. Bourne is a short run west for us. We have no office in Bourne, so we come to you.
An old market town on the edge of the Fens
Bourne is very old. It is in the Domesday Book of 1086 as Brune. Its abbey dates from 1138. The parish has 71 listed buildings. The heart of the town became a conservation area in 1977.
Streets like North Street, South Street, West Road and Eastgate hold many of the older homes. Some have thick walls and old floors. Their wiring has often been added to bit by bit over the years.
The town has grown fast. About 14,500 people lived here in 2011. By 2021 it was nearly 18,000. Much of that growth came at Elsea Park and other new estates. More homes are planned near Mill Drove.
Bourne also sits on the western edge of the Fens. Local drainage boards look after the water in parts of the town. On lower ground it pays to keep outdoor sockets, garden rooms and shed supplies well sealed.
What we get called out for in Bourne
Fuse boxes in older homes
Many older homes still have an old fuse box or a board with no RCD. We fit a modern consumer unit and test each circuit.
Extra power in new builds
New homes on estates like Elsea Park often have too few sockets. We add sockets, outside power and lights with little mess.
EV chargers on the drive
Plenty of Bourne homes have room for a charger. We check your supply first, so it runs safely. Then we fit it neatly on the wall.
Care in period homes
In the old town we plan cable runs to keep plaster, floors and old features intact where we can.

What we do in Bourne
Electrician in Bourne, questions answered
My house is in the Bourne conservation area. Can you still rewire it?
Yes. Inside work like a rewire normally goes ahead as usual. We take care with old walls and floors. If your home is listed, check with South Kesteven District Council before work starts.
Do newer homes in Bourne need electrical work?
Often, yes, but it is usually small. People want more sockets, outside power or an EV charger. We add what you need without touching the parts that are fine.
How much does a consumer unit upgrade cost in Bourne?
It depends on how many circuits you have. Once the new board is in, we test every circuit. Old faults can show up then, because the old fuse box was hiding them. We give you a fixed quote first and explain that risk before we start.
