Your local electrician in Grantham

Grantham is a regular run for us. We work in the Victorian terraces near the town centre, the streets around St Wulfram's Church and the newer estates growing on every edge of town.

It is a commuter town, so home EV chargers have become some of our most common work here. Whatever the job, from a single socket to a full rewire, we arrive when we said we would. We protect your home while we work and leave it spotless.

We are based at Gosberton Clough, near Spalding. Grantham is a regular run west for us. We have no office in the town, so we come to you.

An engine town with homes from every era

Grantham grew with its trains and its engine works. The railway reached the town in 1850. Hornsby built steam and oil engines here and made the town's first diesel engines in 1892. Aveling-Barford came in 1934. Brick terraces from those busy years still stand near the centre.

The council began the Harrowby Estate in 1928. More estates followed, such as Cherry Orchard and Green Hill. Some old factory sites, like the BMARC and American Can works, are now housing too.

The town is still growing. The council's draft plan puts 3,700 homes at Spitalgate Heath Garden Village. More are planned at Rectory Farm, next to Poplar Farm.

So the wiring here varies a lot. An old terrace may have been rewired bit by bit over many years. A 1930s or 1950s council house may still have tired circuits. A new build often needs the EV charger or extra sockets the builder never fitted.

What we get called out for in Grantham

EV chargers for commuters

Lots of people here drive to work each day. We fit home chargers on the drive or the side of the house. We check your supply and fuse board first, so the charger runs safely.

Consumer units on older homes

Older boards often have no RCD protection. We swap them for a modern consumer unit. Then we test every circuit before we hand it back.

Rewires in terraces

Victorian terraces near the centre have solid walls and tight spaces. We plan each cable run with care to keep holes and mess down.

Safety reports for landlords

If you let a home, it needs an electrical safety report at least every five years. We test the whole property and explain each fault in plain English.

What we do in Grantham

Electrician in Grantham, questions answered

Can you fit an EV charger at my Grantham home?

Most homes with a drive can have one. We look at your fuse board and supply first. If the board needs work, we tell you before we start.

My house is in a Grantham conservation area. Does that change anything?

Inside work like a rewire usually goes ahead as normal. Things fixed to the front of the house need more thought. If your home is listed, check with South Kesteven District Council before work starts.

Is a 1930s council house in Harrowby due a rewire?

Not always. Many have been rewired once already. We test what is there first. Then we tell you straight which circuits are fine and which need work.

How much does a rewire cost in Grantham?

It depends on the size of the house, how many circuits you want and how easy it is to get under the floors. We look at the house first. Then you get one fixed price in writing before we start.
